machine
If you do not have the luxury of unlimited funds, and a top of
the range coffee machine is just out of reach, there are some excellent low cost models on the market. A
Gaggia espresso machine is an attractive addition to any kitchen, and will make you excellent
fresh coffee with the utmost convenience. With a Gaggia espresso machine in the home, you could
save a fortune on what you normally spend in the coffee shop.
The entry level Gaggia espresso machine is the
12700 Espresso Maker. It is easy to identify due to the bright red ABS polycarbonate plastic shell, and is quite
striking and draws the attention. Not to everyone’s taste granted, but it does certainly announce its presence. It
gives 15 bar of pressure, for a good ¼ inch crema top on your espresso. A milk-frothing wand is attached for
creating a perfect cappuccino. The stainless steel drip tray also serves to warm the cups, and it can cope with two
espressos at a time.
Unfortunately the machine does take a little getting used to,
and is not quite as straightforward as some, but it’s not difficult to operate. You will need to wait for the
pressure to build up sufficiently before making the coffee. The machine is designed for a fine grind, and if you do
not take care with the ground coffee you put in, you are likely to have either insufficient pressure, or will not
get the best temperature. If you stick to a fine grind you will get a perfect espresso every
time.
The 12700 Gaggia espresso machine is the entry
level machine at $250 in a range that rises to $1800. It is available in good retail outlets and from Gaggia
suppliers. Internet stores will give you more competitive rates if you don’t mind waiting a few days for
delivery.
The Gaggia espresso machine will save you money
and will make an excellent espresso, but being the most basic model means you will have to do without a number of
extra features. If you are on a limited budget, and don’t mind having to learn the routine of making coffee it is
an excellent and stylish choice. If you want more convenience, you will need to dig a little deeper into your
pocket.
